• About The Medic Literature Journal

The Medic Literature Journal is a space where medicine meets literature, as the name suggests. My passion for literature is akin to my love for medicine and the healthcare field. Gradually, I aim to explore the stories, memoirs, and ideas which shape our understanding of empathy, ethics and human experience in healthcare. Through regular discussion, reflective writing, and a love for reading, I aspire to connect science with soul – one book at a time.

Hi, my name is Alishba, a second year biomedical scientist and founder of The Medic Literature Journal. Medicine and healthcare is so much more than stitching up cuts or fixing broken bones. It’s about the people, purpose, and narratives that shape us and how we care for others. I’ve forever been enraptured by the intersection of science and humanity. Medicine is shaped by empathy, ethics and emotion just as much as it is by knowledge. With this journal, I want to bring together people who share this same passion, or those who may want to see stories below the surface of what goes into patient care.

Thank you for being here – whether you’re a student, reader or future clinician, I hope you leave inspired to see medicine in a different, more deep light.
